I don't think it's the pic size. This has been happening to me since last Saturday. It says I posted to many pix. which is true.:ha:

So--------------- just keep whacking away at it till it eats the pic? :08:

Delete 1/2 the old pics? :2738:

Reinstate the subscript'n fee to pay for timely fixes? :08:

I can make the allowance slightly larger but not by much.
The cost to store all this data is high for me, so I put limits when making the site free.
Using another photo hosting service isn't a bad idea.
Sorry for the trouble but I needed to make changes to keep the site alive...

Well, I would recommend getting rid of old pics, when you put in newer ones of the same plant/type. The only drawback is that if you used the pic in a thread, and later delete the photo, there is a blank spot where you had placed the pic, and if anyone goes through those old threads - it will be useless without the pics. :lurk:

The same thing can and will happen with a free photobucket account, especially if you upload lots of large files and share them in multiple places.

I've got my own web sites, fortunately and I have unlimited storage given to me so I guess I'll just post photos from there. I don't like the idea of deleting old photos as they pretty much are all embedded into old discussion threads which sometimes still get looked at.

I'm having problems uploading images. It says it uploaded fine, but when I look to the album it says this category contains no images. Do I need to delete some old albums or something?:(

It's like a month now, and after deleting over half my photos-----

I'm halfway back to being a lurker. :waving::waving::waving:

How many photos do you get with 30,000kb (30,720,000 bytes) ?

I can't upload any either and I've only got a small number in my folder.:( I have a photo of a Musa 'Black Thai' seedling that I'm desperate to upload and show everybody.

I can't seem to put a weather sticker in my signature either :( everyone else has one, not fair!

I don't know if going back to paying is a solution but I'm willing to do that. I hate speading things out over the web if they can be done in-house. Jared has provided a great place. Maybe a group deal for heavy pic posters could be arrainged. I don't know I'm just musing.

Frustrated but understanding it isn't Jareds fault! Heck some forums don't host pictures at all.

I got it to work after two days. I missed the point that was being made. If your image is too large a file it will not upload. I reduced the file size now it works.

When I upload photos to photobucket, it tries to download a 'trojan' to computer. I notified them about it, but will have to wait and see what they do about it.
