I just left my Basjoos just as they were this winter, in SE Virginia.I did nothing. Now, they have leaves and are looking great. They are about six feet tall and will probably grow up into some power lines later this summer. Is it okay to cut the pstem back to about 2-3 feet, so they will not grow into the power lines?.

I know that if you cut them back they will just start pushing out new leaves again, so I guess it's alright.

Yeah you can just cut them back but no one ever wants to do that lol. Are they growing under them or brush up beside them?

They are growing underneath the power lines, and by summers end, they are growing into the lines.Usually I cut them back to 1 or 2 feet in the fall. This time I left them at 6 ft tall in the fall, and I was thinking of cutting them back to 2ft now.
Thanks for the replies

Is there a reason you cannot move them, so they are not under the power lines???
