Put a pizza box with 2 leftover slices inside in the 30 gal rollaround garbage can. Left it behind the boat with lid latched until next collection day.

Sat AM when going for the newspaper the can was gone. It had been dragged 15 ft to the side of the driveway. The lid was open, the box was opened and both slices were eaten away up to the crust. Crusts were left intact.

Ok --- what kind of critter did all this? The can has never been touched before in the 7 years I've been here.

It was plain cheese with extra oregano. Massimos does the best Napolitano style in our area. And they deliver!

The two slices were eaten - cheese and crust - up to the crust edge. So ---- Racoons?

Sounds like a raccoon. A dog most likely would have eating the crusts too.

Hungry teenager.

No to both. Humans and dogs eat the crust.

First I want to be perfectly clear. Dan lives at the opposite end of the state.

Second My dogs were at home at the time of the incident.

Third I was at home too! You can ask my dogs.

OK I usually don't eat the crust cause my dogs get mad as they believe the crust is thiers! :nanadrink:

Maybe they are moving North with the mild winter.

If they ever establish a breeding population in the Glades we'll have another invasive we can't control.

Last week rolled the can out to the street for next day pick up as usual. I've been doing this in the evening for 7 years with no problems. In the AM I glanced out the window in passing and saw the can knocked over. Went to investigate and the lid had been unlatched again and a bag dragged out into the street. It was torn open and saw half a pork chop that had been knawed on.

So apparently they learn ---- wonderful!

The can remains in the garage now and gets put out in the AM.

The critters win --- this time.:2141:

To update this post --- I finally caught a big coon and a bigger opossum. My final guess it was a rak-coon. You see them at the local KFC jumping up into the outside garbage can.
