I've read that Mysore fruits around 15', but the bananas in the vid look like they're fruiting at closer to 8'. Am I seeing that right?
I know plants can vary in size depending on environment, but I guess I didn't realize it could be quite that drastic. I had very much wanted to grow some of these taller types like Mysore/Pisang Klotek/Pisang Ceylon/Blue Java, but the biggest greenhouse I'll be able to get will be just 15' tall, which I thought would be too short for taller bananas like this (without getting creative and growing them horizontally). Now I'm wondering if it's worth a shot...

I've heard tell of some Mysore banana plants fruiting at 6-8' of p-stem in Hawaii (from Gabe and in the Kepler and Rust book), but I don't think it would be easy to get ahold of progeny of those plants. I don't think there are true dwarf Mysore varieties. What I mean by that is ones that have short petioles, etc., the characters of real dwarf plants. But if someone here has Mysore plants that produce at short heights and is willing to share pups, then I'm sure lots of folks would want to try them out!
My Pisang Klotek (from Mitchel) is 9' and no sign of a bloom yet. The other Mysore varieties I've seen in person that were fruiting were at least 10' and sometimes quite a bit more than that.
