Hi
I am located in Georgia in zone 7-8, I have some Musa basjoo in ground dormant right now. I want to relocate them in my front yard.
When is the best time to dig them?
I suspect now since in the spring they will start putting roots in.
Thanks for the help

I too have a basjoo that must move. It is a little cooler here in St. Louis. The stiff psudostem just softened and fell to the ground this week.
Should I move it now or wait till the shoots begin coming out of the ground?

not the best time to do it now unless they are growing root system has to be working so they get established into their new spot.

I dig one up today. I'm in zone 10 though. Good luck.

I usually let mine come up in the spring to a good size, and then I dig them up so that I can see how many there are and I divide them when I dig them up. If you've got 3-4 shoots coming up off of one from last year, wait until the smaller shoot is around a foot or two tall. If you're going to plant them deeper, you've got to let them get taller first.
