Hi Sunfish. Was wondering if and what varieties of dwarf bananas you may have for sale right now? New to this. I have a dwarf red, a mahoi and a truly tiny. I am looking for another, or maybe two other dwarves to add to what I have going now. I love variety.

Yep, same for me as for Tony -- does just fine. Better than all the Cavendish varieties, but not as well as the most cool-weather tolerant ones, the Pisang Awak varieties. Slows down more than them.
I got mine from Tony and it is really a nice looking plant. The tallest one in the mat is only 5' of p-stem now, but I have high hopes for this plant.

This is only partially self promotion on my part, but I'm the guy responsible for buying out Tony's collection over the last few weeks.
From multiple trips to Tony's place, I can say that he had a really nice setup down there, lots of really nice looking bananas and a huge selection of varieties.
So nice that I just had to buy it all.
Now I'm not just a crazy person who had to have hundreds of bananas, well, not completely crazy anyways.......
With over 80 varieties in my collection, I plan on tissue culturing moderate quantities. Currently I have limited quantities of 4 strains in-vitro, with plans to do more as time permits.

That's great! Please make sure the ones you TC and distribute are correctly identified, to try to avoid all the misidentification mixups that are so common with bananas. Or at least distribute them as "unidentified". I know that many of the bananas in Tony's collection were sold to him under the wrong name.

I wouldn't say many but some. The ones I know of as being mislabeled were passed along as not sure.I only know of 3 that were for sure mislabeled.

OK, many was probably an exaggeration. I can think of 3 off the top of my head: "Could This Be Mona Lisa", "Ice Cream", and "Mona Lisa".

Lakatan ? Belle?Manzano?Ele ele?
There may be many more time will tell. The fun part for me anyhow with any plant is growing it out and and seeing what it is.That's why I loved rock cod/deep sea fishing you never knew what you were going to bring up.Now if I was a commercial fisherman or banana farmer I may be concerned that I caught a certain kind of fish or grew a certain type of banana.Other than that grow them and enjoy them.

If it's ultimately from Jon, it's another Pisang Awak (Namwah).

I hear you. Discovery is fun.
BTW, I'm still pretty sure your Manzano is Manzano. I've got one from you planted right next to a mat that I'm pretty sure is the right thing. None have fruited yet (getting close to the right height, but still pretty skinny), but the one from you looks identical to the ones that were sold to me as Manzano. They match the descriptions in the books for Manzano.

Thanks. That's good for the people I sold to.I wish I could of keep my collection long enough to have seen a bloom on each one.I must have sold at least 35 that I never saw a flower .Many I sold were large plants and should bloom next year. So Imperialexotics post picks when they flower.

Where ever there was a question as to identity, I marked 'Mona Lisa ?' Tony didn't have that many that were a question, so I am reasonably certain that what I produce will be sold with a fair amount of accuracy.

Yes, I even have photos for a Cape Gooseberry comparison. I'll get to sometime soon. In short, the ones you gave me were good, and so were the other ones I had. More details later, but work calls...
