Hey, I've only just started growing bananas earlier this year and already I'm addicted. I now have several different species from Basjoo to SDC.
Some I am growing for foliage and the smaller ones I will be trying to flower and fruit in my conservatory! In fact, my main goal in life for now seems to be to grow and eat the fruits from my own nanas!
I will also be attempting to replicate the 'dry storing under the crawl space' method in my roof.

Thank you trebor and caliboy, it must be awesome to have some actual sunshine with which to grow your nanas! :ha:
jmoore, I have a funny feeling that I actually got 2 of the species from you in the form of germinated seeds! Could be very wrong however. I'm not so far away from you in Norfolk.
I've got sikkimensis, basjoo, manii (not sure about that one), 'thai black' and a SDC. Also seedlings of Musella lasiocarpa, helens hybrid, cheesemanii, balbisiana. I've got a few more species that were recently sown so I might have even more soon. :o
I also have a load of other tropical garden plants, palms, cannas, gingers, etc.

It's quite possible, the sikkimensis and balbisiana my well have been from me if they were germinated seeds.

Yep! I think I worked that out from reading old threads on germination a while ago by the way. Not a stalker... :ha:
I lost 4 of the balbisiana to lack of warmth and sunlight I guess but managed to get them under a light in time to save the last one! :08:
Probably for the best really, I don't know what I'd do with all 5!
