I know this sounds bad, but they really are good. Mom has been making them since we were kids and we had too many turnips, and I thought everyone ate them.
Basically you grate up turnip and a little onion (if you like it) and you add about equal amounts to lean ground beef or ground round. Season with salt and pepper and bake your burgers in the oven on a cookie sheet at 400 degrees until they're done. You bake them instead of frying them so that they hold together better.
It makes them kind of tender and juicy and it doesn't taste like turnip.
