I have a question about over wintering two new plants that I have not yet done so.
The first is a Ensete Maurellii....can this plant be dug up and the ball be wraped in plastic bag as i do with my other non hardy plants and put in garage or is it best to put ing pot in the garage...if in a pot do i water at all?
The second plant was purchased as a mamoth elephant ear (real big plant)
can I dig up and cut off leaves, roots and wash off corm like you would do with a common elephant ear?
both are too big for my greenhouse.
Any help would be great
Thanks,
Ray

Can't answer your question as I don't know...but this is my first winter with my ensete maurelii, (s. WI, zone 5), and I dug mine up, potted it, and it's living life as a houseplant, and doing well....still putting out new leaves and doing well. I'm watering it every other day or so, not soaking, and it seems to be doing well. I'm afraid of rot, so afraid of watering TOO much, but the maurelii, isn't showing it's not getting enough water...
