Purchased this as a Pisang Ceylon from Willis Orchard last year not sure what it really is! It flowered in Connecticut and made some nanas - It fell down last week :( Good thing I have some pups! Any Ideas what it is?

I bought my first bananas from Willisorchard before I knew better also. They were suppose to be Misi Luki, Ice Cream and Raja Puri. Why did it fall down. Is the flower already too heavy at that early stage that it needs to be braced? Or was it the heavy winds we had, ?? already can't remember when that was, but we had some good gusts here in the Boston area. Did you give it a lot of fertilizer?

Yeah wind and rain etc., but I guess the bananas were too heavy! They were getting much bigger than the last picture I took/posted.

I still have another banana I bought from them that was supposed to be a Musa Basjoo - I'll have to see when that one flowers!

I don't know what type that banana is, but what is that beautiful banana you have potted? I want one.

Chance1945 that potted plant is a "Red Abyssinian" related to, but not really a banana, not cold hardy either, from Ethiopia.
