This belongs to a friend, and as far as he knows (he knows far more about 'nanners than me) this type was never classified or given a Hawaiian name. The p-stem is about 12-14 ft., fruit is edible but not very large, and the leaves have a reddish blush toward the outer portion. The color does not diminish even in large plants. I had a photo of a leaf that was still wrapped up that shows the most color, but it came out too dark. Sometimes a portion of the reddish part is not present, and looks like variegated green.

Less intensely colored plant

Larger one showing color

Another large colored one

Once the pups get larger, I get one of these unknown 'nanners.
