Hey my local Wal-mart has 2-3ft Cavendish, Musa, and Mysore Banana trees for $6.50 a tree. They looked pretty healthy! I got my trees for free and have never actually bought a Banana Tree, so i wasnt sure if that was an average price or not! Seemed reasonable! What do yall think?

When you want some that you can't find local, look on the site and many members have plants for sale or trade most of the time. Better prices usually.

That's a good price, usually that size shipping would run much more than that....
Even in person, it's unusual to find them under $10- my first banana cost me $25 for a 3-4ft plant...
Considering what a banana in a 10" pot would cost here ($19 to $38) at Wal-Mart, that is a good deal.

I bought little prince or truly tiny not sure what it's from wall mart for 3 dollars. that's reg. price for the 6inch and they had 3more left.
I bought my dwarf namwah for 5 dollars from laws.-that was on 50% off.

Very reasonable price. I have seen some SDC's at 3 feet tall go for as much as 40 dollars here, but the more fairer priced onces are about 20 dollars at that height.

It is a good price (I bought my super dwarf in a 4" pot at my local garden center for $18, but I am willing to pay more there since I get an employee discount and I know how they are taken care of), but just be very careful of how they look. The longer they are in the store, the more likely they are to develop problems. Big box stores don't always have a knowledgeable employee to take care of their plants. My biggest concern would be insect issues. If you decide to buy them from Walmart, inspect them very closely for signs of insects and keep them away from your other plants in quarantine for a few weeks. They could be carrying eggs or spores so you just need to be careful not to infect the rest of your collection. Good luck and keep us updated!

Good price. If ya think about it, that's the same price as a couple gallons of gas, lunch at McDonald's, etc.
I'd rather spend $6.50 on a new banana. :0519:
