Morning all,
i have a 3 year old musa basjoo that earlier this year i took the step and removed him from a pot and planted in the ground. Since doing this he has done so well that i want to make sure i do the right thing over winter to keep hold off it.
I really havent got much of a clue apart from stuff i`ve read on the net.
I`m not sure what zone ( OR HOW TO FIND OUT ) i`m in, but i live on a small island on the south coast of the uk.
From what i can find out i think i need to protect the main stem/trunk.Could i use a drain pipe with air holes drilled in it say filled with straw or something?
I`m guessing i have to cut all his leaves off before doing so .
Also should i try to cover the bit thats under ground with something?
Sorry but i really am clueless on what to do.
Any help would be grate
Thanks for reading
