Musa basjoo flowering in Rochester, NY USA (zone 6)!
After many years, one of the basjoos I gave my exgirlfiend's father is fruiting/flowering. He loves the hell out of this plant and was excited to finally see it bloom... THEN I had to break him the bad news... lol. He took it well, only pausing for a few seconds before seriously asking me "really? It dies now?"... he's got plenty of pups though... the legacy lives on!(He digs it up in fall, replants in spring)

Wow looks great! My Basjoos are pathetic and will probably never get tall. Oh well, Still have my Saba, Thai Black, Velutina, and Blue Java that grow much better!

![]() Awesome! It must have taken a lot of work to get that thing to flower. This makes me feel SO lucky that I live in Southern California.

He does do a lot more for that one banana than I do for all of mine combined... he digs it up in fall and takes it to a greenhouse at a friend of his'. Then in spring he plants it back in... those things can be heavy. I cut mine.
