Ok, so my Wife and I want to move to the Santa Cruz area in California. We live about 1.5 hours away right now in the San Francisco East Bay. I know my area well but I was wondering if any of you live in the Santa Cruz area and what spots are good for growing bananas and which is not. I was considering Felton but it might be to high and get to cold. I live in 9-9b at the moment and would like to keep it about the same. We get minor frost on grass and that is about it.
I know planning our move around bananas might seem extreme but I know everyone on here would understand.:ha:

I suggest you post over at Fruits, Rare Fruits, Orchards and Exotics (http://www.cloudforest.com/cafe/gardening/) as the forum's founder, Axel, is from Santa Cruz and has run cloudforest for many years to discuss gardening, etc. and has a nice place (I visited him back in March). He knows the area well.

Slap some "Nuclear Free Zone" bumper stickers on your hybrid cars and you will fit right in.

Thanks for the tip I will do that.
As far as the hippie comments are concerned, we are well versed in hippie. We live about 25 minutes from Berkeley and love going there.
