Hello... Im new here and fairly new to banana growing. Heres my question for the group. I have an Abbasynian banana that has just suddenly keeled over. I suspect it was as a result of heavy handed watering as my other, less attended to banana seems ok. The question is will this plant come back once cut down. The corm doesnt seem squishy so I dont think I have rotted the whole thing out, but this not being a true banana, will it come back? Im in Winnipeg Canada so outside is currently out of the question. This plant was located in a warm room with 4 skylights prior to its collapse. I have now relocated it to the under lights room for some more intense tlc.

Assuming the corm is OK. it will come back. Most people on this forum who over-winter bananas and similar tropicals recommend very little water. Your message sounds like you actually have it all worked out already.
Feeling adventuresome? Chop the corm into 4 chunks, and grow 4 plants. I've done it when I broke a corm while digging it up, with amazing success. They are really tough.

Best of luck,
Paul
