I figured I put this out there as a tidbit of information. The Dwarf Superplantain variety is extremely susceptible to some kind of cigar end rot. It is the only variety I have planted that I am having this problem with. Bagging the bunches has not helped so I will have to resort to spraying the bunches with Kocide and Serenade.
I'll try to get some pictures this weekend.

Okay, so this bunch was bagged and deflowered and I went to it a few days ago and noticed that few of the finger tips were rotting. I've seen it before on Dwarf Cavendish and the problem I have with it is that only a few fingers will rot but they give off ethylene are ripen the bunch in the bag.

I've started spraying a mixture of Kocide, Serenade, and Bt on my bunches. We shall see if that mixture works to protect the bunches.

Nick ------------------ Mine is growing great. Will report on bunch problems if they happen. Was cigar end rot mentioned in any of the literature from those field trials in PR?

I don't think it was mentioned in the literature, but if you google it a few things come up
