Greetings to all. I am a long-time lurker who is thankful for all the knowledge gained by searching the achived postings by experts and rookies alike. Usually I can root-out the answers to my own questions but alas, I am at an end to find an answer to the question below.

I understand that FHIA group of Cavendish have been crossed with wild/other species of banana to develop resistence to Panama disease, but how susceptible are non-FHIA Cavendish varieties such as Williams? Do all non-FHIA varieties of Cavendish exhibit the same vulnerabilities to Panama disease?

We are about to expand our collection and this issue may impact our specie selection decisions. I have other questions that have been building up but I would like to start with this one. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Best regards, dekkard

Actually, I did find the answer to my own question in a great Table located on page 86 in the Ploetz book, "Common Pathogens of Tropical Fruit Crops". Thanks anyway for any attention given to my request.

Best regards,
dekkard
