So I recently purchased a large amount of bananas from Tony in San Diego, a nice start in filling up my yard.

Lots of pups, a few really large corms etc.

First couple weeks my yard was very disappointing looking, as virtually every nice looking plant I brought home withered and the leaves turned brown etc. Of course I figured my soil mix killed them or something, and I decided to hack off all the dead and dying material.

Flash forward about 3 weeks, after all the roots that might have been slightly damaged due to the stress of being dug up now look like the set of Gilligan's Island. HUGE growth, and full plants once they had the time to adjust to their new accommodations. Now I have lots of green everywhere.

I'm up to about 40 species now.

heh heh.... this is fun :)

40 'species' or varieties? methinks you meant varieties.

Tony,

I have updated my profile to include what I have, pretty sure it is complete. A couple weeks and I'll be ready for more.

I'm jealous. Now that I'm infected with the banana disease I'll be trying to collect as many as I kind as well.
