'Pisang Batu'= Musa balbisiana. This is a common wild species used for many non-fruit uses.
'Pisang Mas'= 'Nino' or 'Sucrier'. This is the "baby banana" in many grocery stores.
The rest of them are either not common in the US and don't have a well known trade name, or they are here and under those above, such as 'Pisang Raja' and 'Pisang Hijau' (if it's the same as 'Pisang Masak Hijau', which I think it is).
Banana names are not standardized, and there is a lot of diversity, so those names above may be all that you can find on them.
Hi there,
As many edible bananas are hybrids of mixed composition and ploidy, they cannot be given specific latin names. They are referred to by the genus (Musa) followed by the their genome and (if any) sub-groupings.
P. Batu = BB
P. Masak Hijau = AAA (Cavendish sub-group) = 'Lacatan' (western tropics)
P. Ketip = AAB
P. Mas = AA (Sucrier subgroup)
P. Raja = AAB (Pisang Raja subgroup)
P. Susu = AAB *similar to 'Silk'/'Apple' banana
Cheers
