Good question. I also have a Truly Tiny and soon it will also have pups and I will seek an answer as when to remove them. Hopefully someone will post the answer for us. Good luck, I think they are very pretty and they will become quite popular.

Spring is the best time to separate pups.

We are in zone 9b and will enjoy warm weather for at least 3 months more and maybe longer. My interest is in how big should they be to seperate them from the mother plant. Is it okay to leave it where it is for many moons to come?
Thanks
I planted couple Truly Tiny last Spring, now they have about an inch pups growing too; one is in ground, and the other is on my large pot. They are doing well in Dallas heat. Just keep them feed and watered at least every couple days or if too hot, I water it everyday. I love that it doesn't grow tall. I can't wait to have its fruit. Since I have pups for backup, going to do some in ground testing in zone 8 if it survive. Wonder how long till it fruits. As for separating the pups, I think I will wait till it has enough of its own roots to be on its own.

If your main concern is for the survival of the pups I would wait until they are at about 2 feet tall but, more important is to make sure you get a good chunk of corm with roots.
There are a couple of great videos that show the actual procedure here, I can't find the link just now and have to run and won't be back to the computer for a while, I am sure there is someone listening who will supply the links.
