i see on some posts various titles such as magazine contributor, senior member, etc. Amy i missing out on something? Is there a magazine going around that i dont receive? i seem to recall paying some nominal fee like $5 a while back but never receiving anything.

What do the titles refer to? is there some hirearchy that i am unaware of?

also, really what are banana bucks? i have never seen any clear description as to what they are for, why there is a checking and savings account (and why one should use one vs the other) and who to donate them to.

in there really an International Banana Society that i should join? is there a secret handshake? does anyone know who runs this thing?

maybe i just havent paid much attention.

Mediahound is the one in charge and is helped by the moderators.

The titles are from the early days and indicated how long you had been a member, they don't mean anything now.

Banana bucks mean you can post adverts and wanted posts, not sure they serve any other purpose.

There is (or was) a quarterly magazine there have been issues regarding publication.

As far as I know this website is the international banana society, there is talk of a subscription fee, but I've heard nothing since. It is not like the International Palm Society which you do pay for.

Mediahound and other more senior members know more than me and you should talk to them about the money you paid.

The $5 fee is to join the site. Back in the day it was free to join.

No, thats the real $5. I think this started 2y/ago, we had a few debates about that on boards allready.

When I joined (November 8, 2010) It was $5/year. I did paypal and by default it went to auto-renewal.
