Hi everyone,
My name's Luke, i'm in zone 4b colorado, north of denver. I grew up in NY, have been out here for 3 years now.
I live in a townhouse with my gf so i don't have a yard to plant in, but we do have a few dozen container plants on our porch haha. We also have two 10'x20' plots in the community garden where we have a big spread of veggies! yum. Out on the porch i have a bears lime, a kumquat and a dwarf wash orange, 3 figs, two blueberries, a couple goji berries(slow growing for me).
Right now i'm infatuated with tropical fruits and currently have the following sprouting or growing: a couple mangos, lychees, cherimoyas, a few varieties of papaya and pineapple guava. I also just got packets of seeds of: tropical guava, strawberry guava, sugar apple, noni, grumichama, two more types of papaya including a dwarf, and loquat. I also picked up a jaboticaba from a local nursery, that was an un expected find. Pretty much anytime i eat fruit, i'll plant a seed haha. I haven't had much luck sprouting dragon fruit seed or rambutan yet.
I can easily see this fascination spreading to bananas. I don't know much about growing them, but this seems like the site to be on.
Also, this is going to sound cheesy but, i decided to join this forum because HBL is an active member here. Love her enthusiasm about plants! Just read through the aero-garden thread and it inspired me to get mine back out and use it to sprout some of these tropical seeds and see if they do better than in ground.
Thanks, looking forward to being an active member
