Any one know about or have any experience with little prince and Truly tiny? Are they both the same? Do any of these produce edible fruit? I saw a little prince in a garden shop? I think they sell it for 10 or 15 dollars? I tempted to buy.

TRULY TINY - a cute and sturdy plant that grows about 3 ft. Tall and produces an edible but small raceme of mild flavored, medium size fruit.

Little Prince - Mature Height - 3-4 Feet (It can stay very small if in a small pot)
Survival Zone - 8b-11
Great groundcover banana, but will probably never fruit. Also a large trunk and pups very willingly.

****Not from my experience just research I have done on these two plants*****

I used to have a truly tiny, they are AWESOME! :08:

Greg hit it on the mark in explaining them :)

I have found that they are alike in many ways, they are both small and are perfect indoor plants.

My only problem with my Truly tiny was that it never made any pups :( but I guess Little prince is supposed to make more pups then truly tiny so that's always a plus when you find it :)

I recommend getting it ;)

I wish I could find a little prince or another truly tiny. But I can't seem to find them anywhere other then on Ebay.

We got ours, a tissue culture I believe, from wellsprings100 on ebay. Also got a few others that are doing good. Probably will get more from them in the future. The cost was decent and have had no problem with the plants. Hope this helps. If you want a lot then go to one of the tissue culture suppliers that offer tray of 72 or more.

 72! :D

I don't quite need that many though, :ha:. One is all I need of them.

I found some on Ebay that are 6"-12" and they are only $11 (including shipping) I don't know if I will be getting one very soon though.

I have little prince and it pups all the time. It will only grow to the size of the pot you put it into so its a great house plant. I pot it in ericaceous compost to bring out the colour, great little plant.

My Truly Tiny (from AgriStarts) has 3 pups in the pot. The entire plant is now going on it's 3rd year and is only about 1 1/2 feet tall. I love it!

Can you buy from Agristarts as a private person and not being a business?

Also, I have one of these but at Home Depot where I recently bought it they didn't know what kind it was.
looks great and has already put out a pup and grown nicely since I repotted it.

any idea of how I can whether it is Little Prince or Truly Tiny?

Thanks

The answer is yes, but there is a minimum order (1 tray), and if you don't want 72 plants of the same variety, there is also a surcharge for split trays (minimum is 18 per variety, so 4 types per tray). Don't expect to order today and get your plants next week; they have their own production schedule, so not all plants are available at all times, and the ones you want might take a while to get. I placed my first order this year, 3 musa varieties and 1 dwarf papaya variety, and the plants came in very good shape, better than when I've ordered TC directly and had to harden them out of their plastic bags.

What is the PH of the compost you used, please? Have you used different levels to alter the colors? Thanks

At the moment i am using J Arthur Bower’s Ericaceous Compost which according to the MSDS sheet has a ph of 4.0 to 4.5.

However it doesn't stay that low for very long especially if you are watering with domestic tap water which in our case has a ph of 7.2

I try to maintain a ph of <5.5 and to achieve this i add distilled white vinegar (acetic acid) to the water to bring the ph down to <5.5.

I used this method for lowering the ph in my hydroponic bubbler when i was experimenting with DIY nutrient so that's where i got the idea.

I bought mine from Amazon for $4.95 and they were packed very nice and no damage.
