This is a pup I removed three months ago at least. There was no sign of growth so I started cutting. Inside four leaves trying to get out.

im glad you posted this..
for me there is almost always a problem with small Saba pups after they are transplanted. your plant was choking ,and maybe would have started to rot altogether if you had not intervened.. i think its the root system,if its disturbed too much there will probably be more issues. i think with Saba its necessary to take a lot more roots to minimize complications. maybe remove some top growth to even things out. i know a few other people can identify with what im saying

i have always had problems young getting sabas to establish so if i give someone a pup i would never trim the roots for any reason. i think they definitely need more manipulation to get them going bottom line..

if you ask 5 other people they may talk about small sabas having all roots trimmed off the corm and recover by the end of the week to grow 2 new leaves.

Here is a Mysore pup that had a hard time of it. Did a hack job when it was separated.

These can become quite tall and was wondering how they do in containers and at what size would one have to repot them. Will they be smaller if keep in a smaller container?
Thanks

I don't think you would want to grow Saba in a container.
