Just saying hello to what looks to be a fun forums site with people with mutual interest in that tropical look. Trying my luck again this year with hardy Banana as well as some other varieties as well as a Wind Mill Palm here in Omaha (zone 5ish)

You are way brave trying for a tropical look. I'm still working on that with some success but with the last two winters it looks like I'm going for the fried tropical look!!!!!!!!

I've been trying the tropical look for about four years now and it's quite a challenge. My palms all handle the winter fine but now I get to see if my Ice Creams make it through. I guess it all depends on how much effort you're willing to put out.
