I am located at Waco, Texas, and have been growing Dwarf Cavindish for some years. I recently purchased six different varietys of Musa, and have them started in pots for now. They are Basjoo, Ice Cream, Raja Pura, Texas Star, Dwarf Orinoco, & Giant Plantain. I wanted to learn more about these bananas, so I joined this Forum. Truly a great site and a wealth of information.
Thank you,
Baygall Jim...

This is a very good informative site. I'm new to it but not to bananas, however I didn't know how little I knew about growing and propagating this delicious fruit. We recently purchased some new verities and intend to get more once the other chores are finished.
I spent the first 7 years of 1940 in Dallas, liked it a lot but we moved back up to Maryland. Good luck with the new plants and maybe we can swap some pups in the future.

:waving: Welcome Jim, from Austin, Texas! Agreed, lots of great information here! And if you can't find the answers, there are plenty of banana braniacs here that have or can find the answers for you.

Thank you all for the welcoming replys.
I figure that with advance of global warming the beach will be at Bryan / College Station, and I will be able to grow Bougainvillea & more bananas up here...
