In you second set of pictures, what type of banana is that in the fourth pic next to your house? It is a very nice looking plant.

Both came from ebay they were tc dwarf namwahs. I planted them last summer right in the ground they were only a few inches tall.

This is the thing. Even in your 40s gardners who plant Sagos may never see them to maturity (depending how quick they grow, how warm the country they live) and need for our parents to plant them to hand down so to speak.
In the UK some people (elders) would not have even thought of gardening with tropicals. Now even though the last two winters have been cruel with many tropical specimens lost we still want them.
Really lovely Sago, and what is the purple flower Greg, I looked in your gallery for a name but only found this:

I got these from Brians Botanicals I like the flowers there cool little plants so cool There
Ruellia species a unusual little plant that grows small trunks and with large purple flowers. A great plant for the hardy tropical garden.
FACTS
strap like foliage on small trunks
Flower: nice large purple flowers 1 to 2 inches
Height: 6 inches to 1 foot tall maybe larger in tropical gardens
Situation: Full to part sun
Zone: 7 and up.

I just bought one of those today Greg,
It has new leaves coming, new shoots from the compost and its a double. Thats like four Cannas for just under £6.00

WOW! Greg that is just so tranquil and beautiful! I loved seeing your chickens too! I was trying to see your fish but missed them. And the donkey and cart is adorable! So many places to sit and just enjoy the fruits of your labors. I did not see one blade of grass or a leaf out of place. It needs to be in Better Homes and Gardens Magazine!!!!! I just LOVE it!

LOL thanks I hear that all the time about the better homes and Gardens I dont see that myself but everyone tells me that. The fish were hiding and the babbies got scared when I put the camera on them I did not want to freak them out the roosters were on guard did yoy see that ? LOL.Thank you for the nice coments.

Oh JaNan that donkey and cart came from orchard supply hardware it was marked way down it had a small chip in it which I fixed and the strap that held the wagon on was broke and mom made a new one. I had it for allot of years. That cactus I have growing in it came from my grandmother. I love that little donkey hes so cool.

Thanks its very special. My father planted it. Its the first thing in the garden. I even have plants from my grandmother. I have some cannas from her I had to make myself keep them,to be honest I did not like cannas much awile back but it changed and now im so happy I have the cannas from grandmother. I have plants from all over from diffrent people. Oh Happy Canada Day ! :drum:
