I have read that a little White Vinegar mixed with water will help lower soil PH.
It is unclear to me if I should really try this. Vinegar is an acid, so I understand the theroy but will it work good with other fertilizer's? And how much can you really use?

Would Vinegar be a once a week, once a month type of deal? It seems like a cheap way to lower the PH around my blueberrys. Has anyone else ever tried using vinegar?

Should work. I've even used it to adjust aquarium water.

"If you want to lower ph of your soil for a crop, but don't want to deal with long term ph shifts in your soil use vinegar.
Vinegar is quite acidic and it can be mixed with your irrigation water. The vinegar will immediately shift ph downward, but it is short term. Repeat with each watering. To get this to an exact science requires a soil test to know what you are dealing with in terms of initial ph as well as how well buffered the soil is (if the test tells you that).

Regardless, using vinegar in the water makes for an acidic solution that should keep scab away from the taters and the soil ph will be back to it's normal value within a month or so (or less) of your not watering with diluted vinegar."

Good deal! Its just temp, so twice a month will be good. I have a PH tester so ill just watch the soil to see if its too much or too little.

Why is it temp? Are you moving the blueberries? I have about 50 now and I'm just going with azalea fertilizer and leaf mulch. I'll test the soil and use some better ammendments in the fall.

I started lowering pH with granular sulfur for the Ae Ae's.

First check with meter probe - no change. Will continue to follow directions and test before I plant my blueberries. I just keep repotting to grow them out. Lots of small bark and peatmoss in mix.

I added sulphur to my soil to make the ph change longer lasting. Dig it in well and in about four months your soil will have a lower ph than before. I think the rate is around 2 ounces per square yard to drop the ph 2 - 3 points lower.
