hi all

I'm D-boo from Newcastle, Australia.

i'm 27, studying social ecology, am an environmental educator and a fruiterer.

my interest is largely in community gardens as our landlords won't give us permission to garden. i have just purchased a red dacca to plant in the community garden and have successfully grown some sort of ladyfinger banana variety before.

I attempt to practice permaculture and am using a banana circle with papaya and sweet potatoes. I would love to learn about peoples experiences with companion planting bananas and other systems people use.

if there are any aussies around newcastle or sydney then i would love to trade banana plants with you if possible

with lots of love and care
d-boo

Hey D-boo, how's it going? I'm an Aussie, but from down south of the border. Can't help you much with permaculture or trading plants (unless via mail). Anyway, welcome and got any photos of your plants?

Good'ay D-boo
Welcome mate, from up here in Goonellabah, Lismore. We're growing Lady finger, Gold Finger Cavindish and Dwarf Cav. Because we have had alot of help from the Bananas Org crew all our Narnies are doing well.
At the moment too we have a bumper crop of Chokos. If you're comming past drop in and pick up some! Do you have a good natural recipe for getting rid of a 3 acre paddock of flowering wondering dew. I hope the Red Dacca grows well.
