Either Musa campestris var. limbangensis or Musa campestris var. campestris would be my guess. Markku, will be able to say I'm sure. Nice plant!

hmm.. but i thought that the campestris complex is endemic to Borneo (?)

yes it's a nice looking plant. i hope that he had collected some seeds back then :)

That would be nice if you could get some seeds. I know I too would like to try that one.

I am fairly sure that is M. salaccensis.

I checked on Nasution's and Markku's respective papers on M. salaccensis, and it sure fits the bill. Many thanks.

Yes, it is Musa salaccensis.
