A friend who lives near Washington D.C. gave me two plants last fall (they keep pupping and he has more than he wants to overwinter now). Pstem gets to about 6 + inches in diameter and 8 feet tall, rather nondescript grass green with slight waxy bloom at base of leaves where they meet the pstem.

I hope I did this photo stuff right.

:sumbrero::sumbrero:Thanks for looking folks, sorry I didn't have flower pics. After looking around the net and here I have come to believe that it is most likely Saba. The largest should bloom this year, we'll see what happens then.

I looked at Orinoco pix also, but the trunk and stipe color looked more like Saba than Orinoco to me. But thanks for the heads up, we'll see how tall it gets and what the flowers look like. From my point of view Orinoco would be fine too, another nice banana cultivar. I need to get my greenhouse finished so I can keep these fellows warm year round.
