Is it just me, or has the Forum been inaccessible for a couple days, and off an on for a couple weeks before that? This is the first time I have successfully connected since sometime last week.

Jarred is aware of it & is looking for another server. At bottom of main page -- "site news". Just seems to be going on for long time. Not as many ppl posting lately.

Hopefully it'll get worked out soon. It sucks when the site is down. :(

Some of us get nasty withdrawal symptoms like...sweaty palms...racing heart...shakes...nausea...etc. :ha:

Good luck getting control of the problem, Jarred. Hope the site doesn't crash for good!

Nice to be back up & running for now though...

I think it must be the bananas. Why? From where I am, I've never had a speck of trouble getting on the site, not once! So, from the native lands whereof bananas hearken, no problems. From the looks of the locale of the posters having problems, maybe you need to get closer to the heart of the banana's home territory to get closer to the signals they give off over this internet?

But then again, it could just be some personal weirdness... just a thought.

Hi Charles, I think you were just lucky when you got on the site ... when it came back. Ante in Croatia couldn't get on either.

Jarred wrote here that it's a host server problem and he's moving to a different host soon. http://www.bananas.org/f5/whats-going-here-13333.html#post155431

Ante in Croatia can't get on either? From the looks of Ante's photos, he's made me love the place already and put it high on my bucket list, i. e. visiting his olives and beaches there. But is it native-home territory for bananas, huh, huh, huh?

I rest my case.

I've had the same problem, but it seems like it must just be some of us having this problem because people have been posting while I couldn't access the site. How does that work?

Sorry about the downtime, you guys.. we are going to be moving the site to another server that's more reliable.

Jarred,

Can you give us some sort of time frame? Or details? Is there a problem finding another server? Or are these problems with a new server? I know this is an on-going problem and has been going on for several months now. Is there anything any of us can help with? If so, let us know! Thanks!

Hi JaNan, not a problem with finding a new server, far from it, just a time problem.
I have already moved one other forum to the new destination server hotel where this site will end up, and we are working out kinks in the operating system design that we will use moving forward for that forum, this forum, and others.
It's a totally different operating system and kernel architecture and we're sorting a few things before moving more sites. Once we do get all that sorted it will make for a stronger foundation moving forward by far. My developers and I are busy on so many things, aside from that.. so its just a prioritization and time issue. We will get to it.
I'm actually hiring more developers as well, because of the large backlog of tasks that accumulated in my list of things to do...
Thanks for the concern and support, appreciate it.
