Some of you might know of the street artist who calls himself Banksy.
Banksy - Outdoors (http://www.banksy.co.uk/outdoors/outusa/horizontal_1.htm)

I've followed his work for many years and now he's right here in Los Angeles! So far he's made 4 works and 3 of them have been either defaced or removed. One was actually cut from a concrete wall and sold on Ebay for close to $9k.

Anyway when I saw his latest I knew what I had to do, find it and have some fun! Here is a phone picture of my girl with the Banksy pissing Bulldog. :08:

Too funny though that your dog is looking away, as if to say "The nerve of you urinating in front of a lady...I'm disgusted"!!! :ha:

So this Banksy dude paints pictures of dogs only, does he? Why are his works removed? Just to sell them?!

Cool that he's there now, so you can appreciate his work even more. ;)

He does all sorts of stuff and has quite a sense of humor. Check out the website I linked to.

I actually did check it out the 1st time but it only showed a pic of another dog.

Cool artist though. Does he just paint on walls and does he get paid...or do people just steal his stuff because it's so good? I know nothing about him at all.

Anyway, thanks for posting the cute pic with your dog.

Go back to his website and scroll sideways as there are several pages of his art. The dog is just the first two photos on there.

A Google image search will show thousands of pics of his stuff. You could also check out the documentary called "Exit through the gift shop" that's nominated this year for best documentary I believe. We were able to see it early from a friend who gets the Oscar screeners. It was pretty awesome!

He uses various methods for his work. Mostly stencils and spray paint, but some brush work and some pump sprayer stuff like the bulldog's pee stream. His studio is huge where he makes these giant stencils for bill boards and such.

This is one of my favorites.

Breaking news, there may a 5th Banksy LA piece. Woot!

Ok now I see! I was trying to scroll up and down...but and there was nothing! :ha:

That Charlie Brown one was awesome and totally comical. I like the boy in the tulips also, aiming for the No Parking sign!

He really does have a good sense of humor and I laughed at most of his pics. Except for the sad one, that's your favorite. I like the picture but just hate that the boy lost his balloon. The picture makes me want to get it back for him! :(

Why is it your favorite? I like the heart-shaped balloon best. ;)

I was also curious...I didn't see a signature in any of his paintings. How do people know if it's really him? Maybe you guys know what to look for but I don't, so I wondered if there's a way to know if it's him for sure.

Cool pics Mitchel, and thanks for the chuckle. :ha:

Hilarious that the owners wanted the 'colorful kid with a gun' off their wall! :ha: I thought it was hysterical.

Sad that Charlie Brown Firestarter is no more. :( It was like Charlie Brown gone gansta'! :ha: I thought it was totally comical.

Thanks for the great links. I've enjoyed his pictures.

To me it signifies loosing love, or possibly letting go which is an important lesson in life.

He has a certain style but the only sure way to know is to follow his website. Only original Banksy works are posted there.

Btw the Charlie Brown one was cut from the wall using a concrete saw and sold on Ebay for close to $9000. It seems the thief's were not working for the property owner like they said. There is video footage on youtube of them cutting the wall and then later loading it into a truck.

That's an interesting way of looking at that picture...I see what you mean. We all see something different though, don't we?

Letting go is a hard lesson to learn...most especially in love. :(

That's so wild about the Charlie Brown one being lifted!

I wonder if they went back for others, or if they will again, raking in that kind of cash! The sight of them on utube must be comical in itself. Smart thinking to say they were working for the property owner! :ha:

Ok, so there are ways to verify that it's his art, by the website that posts his stuff. Do you know anything about him personally?

So he's British! I should have known...I love British comedy best of all. :08:

Neat video, and I see he does sign his name to a lot of his stuff.

By the way, the site keeps freezing on me and I get zapped off every 5 minutes.

That really was great. I'm liking this guy more and more. He's totally cool!

That picture he did with the shopping carts in the river was so accurate and true...even though a lot of people don't like to be reminded or to face the reality about it. Remember this pisturesque scene of a steam off the Thames River, near my place?

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo193/hollyberrylady08/2nd%20album/DSC00612.jpg

Just yesterday I saw a new shopping cart that someone had dumped in it...one of many.

Here too on the other side...it ususally always has a cart or two in it at the very least...along with lots of other garbage and trash!

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo193/hollyberrylady08/2nd%20album/DSC00644.jpg

Too bad, because it's kind of nice. I once even saw a couch in it!!!

As soon as summer hits, the stream has a whole new look...and not one that's pretty, oftentimes. :(

Anyway I like the videos and pics, Mitchel. Be sure to post more here as you come across new stuff. I find it very interesting. ;)

So I found it in tact and had some time to shoot but Granger was not as cooperative as I wanted. He's a puppy still so i'll cut him some slack. The other unforeseen issue was the angle of the sun. No way to get the shot i wanted without having mine or Granger's shadow on the wall. Oh well, I'm going back with Chica and this time I'm going to clear tape a leash into the girls hand that will connect to Chica's collar. 3D! :)

Anyway this probably the best shot from this morning. My take on his social commentary here is that even dreams are being foreclosed on.

This is going to be completely insane! I can envision a data base where kids can track their rocks and even start trading them. This Dad, Banksy and the movie Exit Through The Gift Shop have started something huge!

Can't wait to see how it plays out! :)

LoL! :ha:

Lots of money to be made on those. It's a good idea and they really are kind of cool looking. Happy & cheerful. :D

It's neat how he leaves them places like that. I love the idea and think it's totally cool.

Yes, it'll be interesting to see how it goes...

Absolutely wonderful! I live in Brighton, UK and the beach here is covered in stones, would love to see a few of these funky fellows lodged amongst them. I have a friend who actually knows Banksy, I am going to see he if could let him know about your project. :)
