I have been looking for some other types of Low Chill fruits to grown. I found a place that sell's Low Chill pears, but only as bare root plants. I am not sure about growing a bare root tree, as I have never done it before. After a little more researched I found out that I would need more then one type of pear tree to get fruit from them at all. So I order a 4 in 1 Low chill Pear bear root. Its unfortunate that the wrong one was shipped out to me :( But hey I got this 4 in 1 Asian Pear for free now! You can see how well it was shipped and what a dormant bare root pear looks like. :D

For those wondering what the 4 types of Asian Pear's are on this tree they are, Twentieth Century, Hosui, Shinseiki, And Shinko

Well the packing looks pretty good.

Hey Mike - Almost all of the temperate fruit trees that we buy/or produce here are shipped bare root. Just pop 'em in a pot, or the ground.

Tony, That awesome. I have not tired to graft anything yet, I was thinking I should try grafting some other type of Low Chill Peaches to my current peach tree.

1st I need a something to to graft on :D

I did soak the roots in a bucket of water for about 2 hours before planting. Hope that helps it also.

Nope, but maybe I could just buy one for a family member and take some cuttings from them. :)

Does anyone know if the low chill nectarines are any good?

Purchased at Bay laurel, I really can not say anything bad the tree looks good to me. I just hope it takes and starts going.

Do you even have room for a pear or peach? Last time I was over there I thought your yard was packed full.

I've removed half the bananas and am reclaiming some room for blueberries, pineapples, peaches (3), vegetables, and possibly a pear tree.

Here we are again, this time the correct 4 in 1 Low Chill pear has arrived. The 4 types of Pear's on this one are Monterrey, Comice, Hood, and Flordahome.

The shipping was pretty much exactly the same as before very nice, bear root just the same. I hope it jumps back quick and sets fruit next year. :D

The roots arrived wrapped in wet peat moss.

This is the Asian.

I really did not think they could come back so fast. I am feeling a little more confident about growing a bare root plant now.
