I never knew that blueberries kept their leaves in the south. Mine lose all their leaves, but they are finally starting to bud and there are quite a few flower buds among my 50+ plants which range from 1 year old to a few years in age.
Here's a picture of one of the branches.

Looks good Tony. Is it too late to plant blueberries in SoCal for fruit this year?

Steve- My bushes lose their leaves in the winter, also. The ones we grow here are Northern highbush. The ones Tony grows are Southern highbush. Maybe they keep their leaves over the winter, or did they just leaf out earlier in San Diego? There are, besides these types, also Rabbiteye blueberries.
