I went outside today and saw my large AeAe starting to throw up a flag leaf :woohoonaner:. The plant has been in the ground since 2008 and was bought from Hilo Hawaii. It is in a very shaddy spot with two other 10 foot plus AeAe plants. This plant is over 15 feet tall and has 8 pups. You can see my Direct TV dish in the back ground. This plant is taller than my house.

Congrats Andrew. I'm sure this warm weather we've been having helped your AeAe push out that flower. It has certainly made my plants more perky.

We have had some great weather for the last few weeks. The plant is sheltered but the flag leaf is above my roof line getting lots of sun. I tought I almost lost this plant in November to gophers. They too like the warm weather. Last year was not very warm for us and I had 12 plants flower. Keep em coming!

Congratulations Andrew! It really makes me consider getting an Ae Ae. :jalapenonaner:

I would recommend this banana for its beauty. They are not as fragile as people make them out to be. Go for it!

How wonderful! I am so jealous you can plant it in the ground where you live.
