This seed was suppose to be E. perrieri but I'm not sure. It was not warty but smooth, very similar in size to Glaucum. This is the seeding I posted about earlier. I used the bag method, put on a heat mat for a few weeks then dumped it on the side and ignored it. I looked at it a couple weeks later and there it was! The Ignore Method. Anyway it is growing pretty well now, starting to take off.

Thanks Sherry! I even tipped it over awhile back and damaged the first leaf at the base-you can see it in the last pic. That didn't slow it down at all, whatever this one is! I'm curious now to see what it really is.

You're welcome, Eric!

So exciting that it's going to be a surprise when you determine it's identity! I bet someone here knows what it is. ;)

I had a mystery plant too and it was super healthy looking, like yours. I was told it's most likely an orinoco banana plant, much to my happy surprise. :D

Good luck identifying it and watching it grow, Eric. Whatever it is, it looks super great.

I think I now know what this stupid thing is! I shouldn't say that becasue I'm happy about it. Based on seed descriptions etc, I think it is Ensete Superbum India. I think. If it makes it that long. So far a cat has knocked it down, and ah, well so did I. So if it doesn't get knocked on the floor a for a thrid strike, it might make it to spring and then I really can find out if it is a Superbum.

Cool Eric, do you have it growing indoors?

Thanks Dean! Yeah it's inside-in a house. I don't have a greenhouse. So I'm hoping to get it through the next couple months before I can get it outside and it can take off. I really hope it is a Superbum. I had a Thai Superbum some years ago I grew from seed but killed it due to neglect. So this one I'm keeping an eye, assuming that's what it is.

I bought one,

I had'nt thought to buy seed but then I am usually only lucky with flower seeds. Probably why I bought, and I did want to see how it survived not having had one before.

First Image was when it was deliverd but not in the basket lol

Second Image is how its making out. I spotted 'a new leaf' but is it an Ensete leaf? I once had a new leaf on a revoluta, turned out to be a grass leaf so I dunno.

Sorry, I don't know the way to add bigger Images.

Your seedlings look healthy Sunfish.
