Not for sure if I can reply to any post as I am working in Brazil at the moment and communication is limited for me. I posted some photos in the Members Galleries of some Bananas I saw today here in Macae. I am a little computer ignorant an could'nt post them here but I thought you might check them out in the Galleries. They were about 7 to 8 ft. tall and had a very thick psudostem. They also had some very tall ones, I will try and post more if I get back to a computer.

They are a dwarf Pome subgroup banana, the most commonly known type in the US is 'Dwarf Brazilian'. The variety you saw may or may not be the same as our 'Dwarf Brazilian', but either way they are very similar. Another common name for this type of banana is 'Prata Aņa'.
