Only December 17th and up here in central NY (Syracuse) we've already set the record for snow in December...over 70" and two weeks until the end of the month. :waving:
Hope the musa bajoo make it. Worst case is I'll have mush in the spring and get a couple little pups to get a couple feet tall over the summer. :03:

Precisely a year ago we set our record as well. -20°C and 0,5m of snow. This winter is more pleasant than that. Temps culminate at -3°C.
It will be over soon, don't worry. ;)
I'd consider the snow cover a blessing in disguise. Hoopefully it will provide sufficient insulation for them. Good luck.

Technically you are having a rough Fall. A ridiculous Fall and it is all spilling down here to the South. I certainly hope that WINTER is a lot nicer. My plants usually make it till mid January but not this year.
Simply Horrific!

I was hoping for the same thing. If it worked I'll share how I overwintered them.

I know it's fall, but with almost 6' of snow you can't help but believe it's winter. :ha:

'Rough' isn't the word for it. Worst winter I can remember and December isn't even over yet, lows below -11C in Southern England.
A combination of the Icelandic volcano and the sunspot minimum I think.
Next thing you know the Americans will start telling us there's no such thing as global warming :ha:

OH NO I'd never say that.
Al Gore couldn't be full of Horse prepared fertilizer could he.
I'm sure he is right and ever day I thank him. If it wasn't because of the Global Warming Al Gore created we'd be in an ICE AGE. I'm sure.

Really. Please, do watch and then follow the links to check for yourself. GW is not a matter of belief, it's a matter of records and statisical evaluation.

Oopps It appears I stunk up the room.
Jack I'm really sorry but at some point Gore's beliefs become humorous and I have to throw a jab or two. I however will not hijack a thread and continue the discussion. This issue will only be resolved after two or three hundred years. I have my beliefs and I cannot be swayed from them. I have no doubt that the climate will and has changed but at what rate, for how long and for what reason I do not believe that we have enough historical data to have answers.
It is the job of analyst to twist the data to support the opinions of those that pay them.
You sir may have the last word but I will not comment on it further*. The topic is too volatile.
