for the topics here in the hydro forum..... Kinda sarcastic thanks, though since now I am starting to get the itch to try my hand at dwarf nanners in an AQUAPONIC system as well as traditional garden delights in the system. This venture is sure to tick the wifey off but hey, what am I gonna do?? lol!
Anyone ever have success with nanners in an NFT or CHIF PIST (i think im missing a few letters on that one) system?

I've seen articles around the net on growing bananas using NFT but I've never tried it myself. I have no idea what CHIF PIST is.

CHIF/PIST = Constant Height In Fish tank / Pump In Sump Tank
a couple different ways to achieve this way of doing things but ebb and flow is the main way.

I have grown on pups in a very basic Aquaponic system.
What i did was plant up a tray suspended over the Koi pond.
The tray was constantly flushed with nutrient rich water from the pond and the "used" water just trickles back into the pond.

I have used this method several times to produce roots in pups that had none when removed from the parent plant.
I plan to try it on a slightly bigger scale in the new year.

I want to try a 180 gallon setup with 1 ratio-sized bed and have 1/2 the bed for veggies, 1/4 for smaller fruit bush, and last 1/4 for one of my SDC pups just for fun. Was thinking of raising rainbow trout or some small mouth bass for food since they are ok in cooler water than tilapia since my setup will be in my basement (roughly 60-75 degrees F all year round) and don't want to have to worry about heating the water if I don't have to. want to also run only one pump with a bell syphon and a backup Reverse Osmosis filter for those "just incase" times.
