View Full Version : The first harvest of Cal. Gold in Japan??

In respect to the fact that there are small numbers of Calif. Gold growing
in this country, I have so far never heard of any infos of harvesting of this
banana in Japan and I suppose this would be the first one harvested by
amateur banana growers in this country.

For some reason or other, the potted plant developed only the 4 fingers
and not any more. It would have been possible that I would have made
some mistakes in taking care of the plant. Otherwise this thing could not
happen.

Then its taste? It was quite nice having good balance of sweetness and
acidity.

Congrats! Did you grow it outdoors and what zone are you in?

Thank you for your compliment.
This banana was grown outside throughout the year
without winter protections.
I am in Zone 9B perhaps.
