Taking a line from a recent commercial I wanted to be prepared, you know when that special moment came around so I went ahead and wrapped it up. It now looks like a frozen popsicle. Should I have waited? Was I premature? I asked my wife and she didn't have a clue?
How do you know?
What happens if you wrap it too early?

Was the wrapping covering the entire thing all the way to the ground? If not you wasted your time. You may have reduced damage but it's not enough.

Darkman - your description(a recent post) of how you winterized with concrete wire, leaves, and visqueen sounded like a winner. did it work? what turned into a popsicle?
I'm out of town over this freeze. My plants are wrapped but its going down to 20F tonight in Biloxi - i dread what i'll find when i get home next week.

Yes it went all the way to the ground and I placed bags of leaves around the wrapped base.

Hopefully nothing. My reference to a popsicle was not because of a frozen interior merely they reminded me of popsicles standing up in the yard. I'll have to post a picture. I'll know if it worked March 1st, 2011 when I unwrap. My biggest concern is the moisture content of the leaves I placed inside the cage. I may have provided a perfect environment for decay. Will see.

That is not the one. LOL I was thinkiing of the one geared to men who are just a tad over the hill and need a lift. But my special moment is that hard freeze we are getting tonight. I worry about sealing the Bananas up here so early since we may have 70 degree weather before we get another freeze. Had to be done though as we have had two nights going down to 25 and we have had a 28 and another 26 last week so I did not have a choice if I want to have fruiting plants. In my climate I could have left them alone and they would come back from the corm but I want to have fruit.
