Just got these puppies in the mail last night........Can't wait to get them started! I only have 20 so I was going to go 2 different routes with germing.
Route 1: soak seeds in tepid water for 48 hours changing water every 24hrs then sowing in starter mix in cups and covering with clingwrap to keep humidity. (sidenote...all mix sterilized and moistened 50/50 with tap water and copper fungicide) And left standing in a sunny window at room temp (20-25 deg. celsius).
Route 2: Clean outer seed coat thoroughly with hydrogen peroxide solution. Then with a swiss diamond file (these are super easy for me to get from work) carve a thin line top to bottom on one side down to the inner part. Soak 24hrs in tepid water. Moisten a paper towel with water / copper fungicide and place in a partially inflated ziplock and set on top of my DVR (only area in my house that is always 80+ degrees) until germination. Post germing will be separation and planting individually into cell packs with sterile potting mix.

How does all of this sound? Think I'll have decent rate, if any?

Sounds good to me too. Like I said in a recent post, I pretty much have started ignoring mine. It seems to work best for me. Let us know how this works out.

I'll be sure to update progress.....I'm gonna also try a method that Tog did before.....actually sow the seeds into an overripe nanner and put it in a ziplock container and just wait. If you think about it, might as well try to make an environment as close to native as possible!

good plans there.. im trying 3 ways now with seeds..
1.soak in spring water..keep @ 84F changing every day..for 2 days..then put in moist towel..keep at 84F
2.scarify seed..soak as in plan 1
3.pour boiling water over seed..follow plan 1
? i guess i'll see how it works..
guess hard thing is,at least for me,is not to check every few days...
lol.. i know its going to take awhile.. just anxious..
thanks to all for ideas...

well after quite a few days of trying to find the time to work on these seeds, I finally got them in to soak yesterday afternoon. I first set-out to scarify 8 total, ended up with 3 out of 11 were completely hollow and 8 that looked proper to me. set those in their own water tub and put the rest in a different one. now just to sit back and wait for after work today to sow!
