Well, yesterday (11-15-10) sucked!

We needed rain, but not like this. I ended up with 5 inches in the rain gauge, and most of that was between 10am and noon yesterday. I was sitting at a red light not far from home and was watching the hard rain blow through the intersection when I felt a hard gust rock my truck. When I got home I found this...

My ensete glaucum, what had been the most beautiful banana in my garden.

And to think I was about when a freeze would hit!

If it makes you feel any better, I store my Ensete glaucum in a warehouse in the dark for 6 months out of the year....It comes out of storage with NO leaves, and summer before last, it bloomed.....This too shall pass....like a kidney stone :) Good luck!

How sad! Your gardens still look beautiful though!! Have faith! They will recover!

That's a really good way to put it! Oh well, spring isn't that far away.

Sue, thanks, the garden always looks better after a rain.
