I am getting ready to leave for a Dr. appointment. when I return I am going to ready my plants for the winter. I live in the very Southern part of Ohio so it does get cold. My question is I have a pick up full of mulch and I was going to bag it up and place three over each one and then cover with tarps and bricks. I think I read where someone said that you can pile the mulch on after you cut them back, then tarp them. I would love to be able to do that because I have 15 plants and it would save me lots of time, but I am not willing to kill my plants because I am being lazy. Could I get some feed back on any suggestions. I will read the posts before I go outside and start.
Again can I cut back the plant pile loose mulch on top and then cover with a tarp and bricks? Help

Thank you to all that respond.

All so thank you all military members past and present on this Veterans Day.

yes...as long as the trunks are all covered with mulch..and a foot above them, cover them with a tarp and you should be good...
