Looks great!
I solved my problem of trying to grow the "dreaded reds". I sent them all to my wife's cousin in Homestead, Fla. They will grow fruit down there.
I'm too far north to grow the too tropical tropicals - rats!
Still grow them in pots though for those who want pups.
Like Red Iholene, White Iholene, X Cross and Kru.

Bummer. Your loss is our educational gain though! Won't be planting one of those, despite the raves about the appearance and taste.

The plants themselves will make it through the winter, just need to get them to flower in the spring early summer.

Tony ----- Just tossed an 11 hand bunch of Goldfinger that I cut down after the 2 So Fla frosts. Hung it in the house to see how it would do. The fingers developed the same burnt nose as your Kru when ripened. Mostly the top hands. Later - the odd smell that got the dogs attention.
Was able to eat about one hands worth. Tossed the rest.
Thank you Al Gore.

I'm going to cut off the rotted fruit and leave the one's that are still green.Maybe I can get a few to mature on the plant.

Hi Tony
Could you use some sort of insulation to protect the fruit.

I'm sure I could of. Just keeping the rain off it may of help and maybe I should of cut off the bud sooner. I do have another Kru that I think should flower as soon as it warms up some.

It grows great as long as I don't get frost.

I am ready to rip mine out. Kru might be the best, but not for me. I cant even get mine to look like yours before it dies.

This one did get some rot over winter and had to be cut back.

Four years ago I relocated my Kru to Homestead, Fl to live at the cousin's house. It is doing just fine and making bananas for her and all her neighbors.
