Fall is here and Winter is on its way for the Northern Hemisphere. That means shorter and cooler days for most of us.
I think some tropical scenes would definitely make us all think of the days of summer again and that doesn't mean you have to leave your yard! But if you have some vacation pics that would be really great also!
If you post pics from your vacation of your yard dont forget to post an approximate date and location and the names of the plants in the pictures if you know them.
Here are some pictures from my Summer 2010...

Nice grouping of coconut palms in July in the Early Morning on Wailea, Maui, Hawaii.

Beautiful plumerias everywhere at the hotel in Maui!

Coconut palms by the pool in Maui.

Papaya in Maui, Hawaii

Love the color on these Ti plants on Maui in Hawaii at the hotel entrance
<a href="http://s705.photobucket.com/albums/ww59/tropicalzone7/?action=view&current=DSCN0846.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww59/tropicalzone7/DSCN0846.jpg" border="0" alt="Maui 2010 Summer!"></a>

Nice line of Washingtonias on Maui. I didnt know they could grow in the tropics, but it was pretty dry so that may be why they do so well.
<a href="http://s705.photobucket.com/albums/ww59/tropicalzone7/?action=view&current=DSCN0937.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww59/tropicalzone7/DSCN0937.jpg" border="0" alt="Maui 2010 Summer!"></a>

Beach in Maui

Banana plant on the beach?? I thought they didnt like salt. I can tell this banana didn't appreciate all the wind, but other than that, it looks pretty accepting of its location (and its in fruit!)
<a href="http://s705.photobucket.com/albums/ww59/tropicalzone7/?action=view&current=DSCN1119.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww59/tropicalzone7/DSCN1119.jpg" border="0" alt="Maui 2010 Summer!"></a>

I like the deep red blooms on this plumeria on Maui.

Really nice group of lady palms at the hotel in Hawaii
<a href="http://s705.photobucket.com/albums/ww59/tropicalzone7/?action=view&current=DSCN1247.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww59/tropicalzone7/DSCN1247.jpg" border="0" alt="Maui 2010 Summer!"></a>

I never knew that red ginger could reproduce like this. Some of them had offsets that were even more mature than the ones on this flower bract.

Beautiful pictures! I'm so envious. Were those hotel photos of the Grand Wailea Hotel? My wife and I stayed there some years ago and we were treated royally! Also stayed at the Kaanapali Alii, but the Grand Wailea had a lot more trees and plants, not to mention the huge Koi pond next to the Wedding Chapel there.

Yes, it was the Grand Wailea. It was probably the most beautiful hotel I have ever been to. I really recommend it to anyone. The landscaping is fantastic and the beaches and pool are amazing. Only downside is that there isnt much to do on that side of the island, but the beauty is more than enough to make it worth staying there!! The weather there was also amazing. The Mornings were warm and sunny and around 2 pm it cooled down to the low 80s and the wind really picked up. The weather was so comfortable (except on the beach where it was really HOT!). The koi pond is really nice there and they have a few around the property. And if you love Ginger and plumerias, they must have 100s there!

I dont think I have any of the actual fish, but I do have some of the ponds. Ill go look for them and post them! The pond in front of the hotel is amazing! The waterfall must have been 20 feet tall!

Thanks for looking!
