Yes they are edible. Never tried one
The fruit is quite sour still when it falls off the plant and can take a month to ripen to its full flavor of sour strawberries

Oh my gawd Tony...totally awesome peeks! :goteam:
Ok, here's what I want to know...
I grew "Incense" from seed this past Spring and it grew fairly nicely along the fence in my garden but no flowers this year. This is not uncommon for seed-grown passiflora vines however...
Do you think the roots will survive my zone (5b) and return next year as a perennial? It's all just an experiment but I wondered if you might know for sure, Tony?
Thank you for your terrific shots and please keep them coming...

Ok, we get much colder than that but we also have a lot of snow coverage so it may help to keep the roots warmer than usual. I also buried the vine extra deep, in a sheltered area, to give it a good shot at returning.
Guess we'll see...

What do you plan to do to control all those unruly vines? Where I used to work there was a Frederick's that was about 50 feet long each way and the base turned into a hard tree like trunk about 6 inches thick. We had to constantly trim it.

I'm to lazy to soak them,I use to.I haven't seen any difference in germination between soaked or ones I've planted direct. Soaking may speed up germination and it may help with older seed but I'm not convinced it makes a difference.

I'm glad they finally settled on p. Bellotti, because I always despised using "Alatocaerulea". Also, I agree about the trunk on Caerulea, as I just dug up one big tree trunk too because it was throwing shoots on the other side of the neighbor's driveway, and that was sort of embarrassing. ;)

Tony & Sherry, looks great!!!
Hey Tony, you inspire me to go to yard sales and hunt down old fish aquariums! I love that idea...
How is your weather holding up? I'm on the mesa, so I have been getting intermittent hail. I'm not at all happy. We dipped down to 32 the other night, and I noticed all of the banana trees in the area were pretty fried, and I'm worried about my 200+ plumerias that are planted. :(

I have noticed similar. I give my Mollissima seedlings only morning sun until about 10am, and they do fine. Also, it seems that it depends on the age of the seed greatly, as some of the seeds that were about 6 months old had 0% germ rate, whereas the ones that I planted from freshly dried fruit germ'ed at about 75%.

Tony, I am curious if you've ever tried Coir for your seedlings. The reason being is that I have noticed that Mollissima, Foetida, Malformis, and Morifolia have suffered from damping off easily with organic soils, even with lots of perlite. But - with Coir, I have eluded that issue, allowing them to slightly dry out. I think when we get more cool days and humid times down here, I see it happen more often. Especially right now.

Yes I use coir or peat. I have had seedlings damp off ,keeping them to wet.I don't think that is the problem with these. Their not rotting at the soil line.

Picked this up at Whole Foods. Tasted good, kind of like a cross between an orange and pineapple flavor. The seeds were very, very hard. I ether spit them out or swallowed them whole. Is this Edulis?
http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n580/JaNan16/20110410003.jpg
I sure wished these remarkable flowers lasted longer!
http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n580/JaNan16/20110409004-1.jpg
These are my babies in the AeroGarden. I don't think they are the minis that I had hoped for, but maybe. Right now the leaves are about the size of a quarter. Tony any guesses on these?
