I went to Lowe's yesterday for some larger pots and browsed the plant selection. Was pleased to see some GORGEOUS High-Color Minis, Zan Morenos and SDCs for only about $25 each.

I really like the Mini's "pinched looking" growth habit and when I described it to my wife, she sounded like she will be wanting a couple.

I believe they are not cold-hardy at all so will be brought inside for the real winter. Should I be able to grow these guys permanently in an 18" square pot (42 quart)?

I switched to square pots because it's easier to move them with the hand truck than the round.:)

This is just my opinion, you probably know more than I do but from what I know about High color Mini and because most of my bananas(some which grow much larger) are in slightly smaller pots, I would say it would grow great in them. Check out my gallery, all those bananas on the porch are in pots 15" across(slightly deeper) and they are growing great.
